The Steam Community produced a launch-week “Turbo Time achievement?” question almost immediately. The official requirements give us the target, while full-release footage shows the mechanics you can use to make it less fiddly.

Turbo Time

Requirement: maintain turbo boost mode for 10 seconds.

The clean route is to invest in turbo duration as the branch opens and trigger the boost while you still have enough useful pollution on screen to keep the tool working. Current video shows turbo duration upgrades later becoming substantial enough that a 10-second run is practical rather than a frame-perfect trick.

Avoid burning the charge while moving across empty ground. In some footage turbo only meaningfully drains while the tool is being used, but we still treat that as video-tested behavior rather than a hidden formula.

Turbo Domination

Requirement: clear 50% of a level with a single turbo charge.

The easiest setup is usually not your hardest map. Use a level where:

  • your vacuum power already outscales the sludge;
  • your radius is large enough to sweep broad sections;
  • crystals/gas are not forcing constant tool swaps;
  • you can start the turbo with most of the map still dirty.

That lets the single charge do what the achievement asks: clear a huge fraction of the job, not just accelerate the last few percent.

Upgrade priorities for both

Useful nodes are the ones that increase turbo duration and power, plus normal Vacuum Power/Radius so the boosted seconds convert into more cleaned area.

Battery timing also helps because you can enter the turbo attempt with a battery sitting ready to extend the run if needed.

Common mistake

Do not trigger the turbo as soon as it appears if the current area is almost clean. Save the attempt for a fresh, familiar map where you can convert the whole charge into progress.
