Sludgineers gets confusing when three different raw/refined pipelines are on screen at once. The easiest way to keep it straight is to separate field resources from refined resources and run helpers.

Three Sludgineers refinery pipelines

The three refinery pipelines

Current full-release video supports these relationships:

Field inputTool / stageRefined output
Draxium SludgeVacuum / early refineryDraxine
Zorkite OreJackhammer / crystal refineryZorkon
Vexon GasAir Filter / gas refineryVexigen

These are the relationships we are comfortable publishing. We do not invent exact conversion ratios where the current UI has not been reliably verified against Patch #1.

Cash

Cash comes from job progress, object bonuses, quests and other upgrade-driven rewards. It is the broadest currency and is usually abundant by late game compared with a specific refined resource.

That is why “farm more money” can become bad advice: if Draxine is the gate, cash is not your problem.

Batteries

Batteries extend the current run. Battery drop chance, recharge value and low-energy timing are a big part of early efficiency. The official achievement list includes Close Call for picking up a battery below 5% energy and Supercharged for collecting five batteries in one level.

Gold coins and magnets

The official achievements confirm Midas Touch for collecting 100 gold coins and Attractive Investment for collecting $500 with a single magnet. Video play also shows magnets becoming increasingly useful as the amount of loose money and processed material grows.

Safes and diamonds

Safes are a late-game reward system. Current footage shows safe-cracking progression and diamonds coming from opened safes once that branch is active. Official achievements confirm In Safe Hands (25 safes) and Bling King (50 diamonds).

Patch #1 increased refined resources from safes by 250%, so safes now matter for progression as well as achievements.

The best way to read your resource bar

When an upgrade is blocked, do not ask “What gives the most stuff?” Ask which exact item is red/short on that upgrade. Then follow its pipeline backward:

  • refined resource short → is the refinery waiting, starved or uncollected?
  • raw resource short → are you playing the right job and using the right tool?
  • cash short → can you quickly clear an older map or finish a quest?

That keeps farming attached to a real goal.
